God-Inspired DelaysTGIF Today God Is First, by Os Hillman01-09-2008Yet when He heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was two more days. - John 11:6Delays in our life are not always easy to handle or to reconcile in our minds. Often, when God does not answer our prayers in the time that we feel He should, we appoint all sorts of characteristics to God's nature that imply He does not care.
Such was the case with Lazarus' sisters when Lazarus became ill and died. Jesus was a close friend to Lazarus and his two sisters, Mary and Martha.
(Mary, you may recall, was the woman who came and poured perfume on Jesus' feet.) When Jesus arrived two days later, Martha shamed Him by saying, "If You had come he would not have died." She implied that He didn't care enough to come when sent for. It was a matter of priorities for Jesus, not lack of love.
God often has to delay His work in us in order to accomplish something for His purposes that can be achieved only in the delay. Jesus had to let Lazarus die in order for the miracle that was about to take place to have its full effect.
If Jesus had simply healed a sick man, the impact of the miracle would not have been as newsworthy as resurrecting a man who had been dead for four days. This is Jesus' greatest "public relations act" of His whole ministry. What many do not realize is that the key to the whole story is in the next chapter.
Many people, because they had heard that He had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet Him. So the Pharisees said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after Him!" (John 12:18-19)
If Jesus had not raised Lazarus from the dead, there would have been no crowds to cheer the Lord when He came into Jerusalem riding on a donkey.
God often sets the stage so that His glory is revealed through the events that He orchestrates. He did this with Moses and Pharaoh, allowing delay after delay for release of the Israelites from Egypt. He did this with Abraham and Sarah for the promised child, Isaac. God granted Sarah a baby past the age of childbearing in order to demonstrate His power.
God did this in my own life. He delayed the fulfillment of what I believed He called me to do for several years. But the delays provided the necessary preparation and greater glory that God was to receive.
My friend, don't take the delays lightly. Do not faint as God places you in what seems to be a holding pattern. God is at work. God knows the purposes for His delays. Don't give up, for they are for His greater glory; so we need to remain faithful.

thought tt this spoke to me.. and i hope it will speak to many of you too =) in life, God lets us wait for his answer at times, but it doesnt mean that he has forgotten about us.
i guess the waiting is a process of us having faith in him and continue to obey him regardless of whether he will or will not say a "yes" to what we have asked of him. God bless you all!

thank you for your time for reading these i've posted ((:
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIMEA young man learnt what's most important in life from the guy next door, from Mr Belser.
It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him.
Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday."
Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.
"Jack, did you hear me?"
"Oh, sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.
"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side ofthe fence' as he put it," Mom told him.
"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.
"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said.
"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important... Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.
As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.
The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time. Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time. The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture.... Jack stopped suddenly.
"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.
"The box is gone," he said.
"What box?" Mom asked.
"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was 'the thing I value most,'" Jack said.
It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.
"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."
It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read.
Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention. "Mr. Harold Belser" it read. Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package. There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside. "Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch. Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover. Inside he found these words engraved: "Jack, Thanks for your time! Harold Belser."
"The thing he valued most...was...my time." Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days.
"Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.
"I need some time to spend with my son," he said. "Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your time!"
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away."
Think about this. You may not realize it,but it's 100% true .
1. At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like
you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. If not for you, someone may not be living.
8. You are special and unique.
9. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and wait on His time, probably, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.
10. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come from it.
11. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.
12. Someone that you don't even know exists, loves you.
13. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.
14. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know and you'll both be happy.
15. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.
Share this story to all the people you care about. You will certainly brighten someone's day and might change their perspective on life, for the better.

There are three kind of people.
There is one who see what happen.
There is one who ask what happen.
And lastly there is one who make it happen.
Which one do you want to be?

BE A LAKEThe old Master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt ina glass of water and then to drink it.
"How does it taste?" the Masterasked.
"Awful," spat the apprentice.
The Master chuckled and then asked the young man to take another handful of salt and put it in the lake. The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and when the apprentice swirled his handful of salt into the lake, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."
As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the Master asked, "How does it taste?"
"Good!" remarked the apprentice.
"Do you taste the salt?" asked the Master.
"No," said the young man.
The Master sat beside this troubled young man, took his hands, and said,"The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains the same, exactly the same. But the amount we taste the 'pain'depends on the container we put it into. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things ..... Stop being a glass. Become a lake!"

hello.. it's been awhile since anyone updated. i hope you all are still doing fine.. :)
recently God has been teaching me about having a fear for Him. most of us have heard of the verse that says..
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. -Proverbs 9:10but have we fully understood the meaning of it? for me.. i guess it was just, alright.. so fearing God is a good thing. today, very miraculously.. i came across a verse that spoke of the fear of the Lord again. (and it was the first verse i glanced at)
Proverbs 19:23The fear of the LORD leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.this verse.. says that fear for God actually will lead to life. i dont know wht you all think, but my first rxn was.. how can a fear bring life, instead of destruction?
God explained and i realised wht he meant in that verse. What would you do if you feared someone? You would obey the person, isnt it? and in our case, obeying God means listening to him and letting his will be done in our lives, regardless of how pain it can be.
once we submit to him with all our hearts, we no longer feel the burdens/worries that life gives to us.. because we learn to put our trust in God and believe that as long as we do our best, he will do the rest. as we read on.. the verse says
"then one rests content" one finds contentment when we have done our best in everything and then, we need to rest.. to recharge our strength (not that we survive by our own strength, but because God made us in this way, such that rest is an important part of working as well)
but it continues on with
"untouched by trouble". This is what God assures us.. that his protection will be upon us everywhere we go. That when we have depleted all our energy, the devil cannot touch us, because of the blood of Jesus that covers us.
:) so it all begins with our hearts. do you want to fear the things of the world, or to fear the creator of the world? you decide.
1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.may the assurance of God be with all of you! God is with you, all the time.
